Shimano Xtreme Fishing

In Shimano Xtreme Fishing you'll use rod & reel, bow and arrow, and a spear gun and SCUBA to go after more than fifty varieties of fish and fend off hungry predators like sharks, alligators and piranhas. Swim and boat through exotic environments ranging form the cold, dark waters of a North American lake to a roaring Amazon waterfall. Experience eerie submerged Mayan ruins, the hidden lagoons of a southern island and the shark-infested waters of a tropical sea. You'll be using the very best gear including Shimano Voltaeus fishing rods, Hoyt bows, AMS bow fishing reels and Muzzy arrow points. You'll soon find the more extreme the gear, the more extreme the fish. Multiplayer Mode pits you against another kind of predator - human. Two to four players face each other as they race through beautiful locations in a series of fast and deadly fish hunting contests.

The game is easy to jump right into - no need to learn a bunch of new controls. The three options for type of fishing give it a good mix - regular pole/line fishing, bowfishing, and underwater spearfishing. The latter two are GREAT with the 'perfect shot' gun. If you play a long time it can get a little repetitive, but there are different places to go and types of fish to catch/shoot.

Multiplayer is fun on the shooting ones - up to 4 players can compete to shoot the fish on screen (and score points for a winner).

The 'Teen' rating is only for some minor 'blood' when a fish is shot - no big deal IMO.

It's a solid game that I play pretty often, and is fun to mix in when people come over. -- Pretty good game!
I bought this for my husband, but we've both been playing it. There are many options for changing up the game. It's fun and has nice graphics. The shark attacks are a little unnerving so I guess that means we are really into it. Been playing off and on for several months. Still challenging. Great fishing/diving game. -- Fun, and doesn't get old
After checking online from the selection of fishing games, I noticed the graphics and variety this game offered. It was just as I had hoped. There are plenty of places to fish and so many types of fish to catch. Each type of fish gave a unique fight and difficulty. Plus this game has additional challenges of rod and spear fishing which didn't disappoint at all. Although, I've only had the game for just over a week I see myself playing this game regularly for a long time! And for the price, you can't ask for a better deal!

I read from other reviews and I chose not to get a fish pole simulator. It works great with just the remote and nun-chuck. -- Great variety of fish and challenges!
I bought this game based on the reviews of the Bowhunting and Spearfishing and am glad to have it..I had a lot of trouble hitting anything at first but then I started using my Wii Zapper for the Bow and Spear..Lots easier to hit the target..Now my only complaint it that some stages take too long to complete..You drive the boat or swim around for a long time trying to find the last few assigned fish..During the spearfishing the Sharks and Gators are easy enough to deal with but the Pirhana are impossible to escape..You can never shoot them all and finally ending up going backwards in points..I have not even tried the fishing..This is a fun game and well worth the low price.. -- Addictive but frustrating
Interesting game, but initially very difficult to understand. Once you figure it out, it's mildly entertaining, but certainly nothing like real fishing. 4 lb. bluegills? 13 lb. walleyes caught on surface lures? Come on, get real.... The spear and bowfishing is difficult because of Wii aiming issues - I'm not sure if this is a Wii problem or a software problem. Anyhow - the game is OK and mildly entertaining, but certainly not addicting and often frustrating. -- OK, but not like fishing
